Meet Sherrl

When I first started pursuing my serious interests in make-up, I focused my attention squarely in the realm of beauty, glamour, and fashion applications, and I really liked doing that kind of work. But when I answered a call for volunteer make-up artists for the Scare for a Cure haunted adventure, I discovered the entire new world of special effects make-up; I quickly came to enjoy that kind of work as well. 

From the creative and energetic crew at Scare, I learned how to create zombie and undead effects, how to cast, apply, and paint appliances and prosthetics, and how to mix blood, slime, and other bodily fluids. After a few years, I was able to take the skills that I acquired and continue learning from and working with some of the more prominent artists in the special effects industry.

I absolutely love using makeup to bring out the best in people: be it a beauty queen or a horrific monster, on stage, screen, or even just walking down the street.  I am always on the lookout for new sources of inspiration and new ways to improve my craft, and I look forward to helping bring visions to life for years to come.
