Special effects

Special effects artistry can combine the use of makeup effects, application of appliances, and some practical effects to craft incredibly realistic creations. Wounds, bruises, or gushing blood, monsters and zombies -- special effects can translate your imagination to real life.

makeup

It is as important as ever to have a artist that can select and apply the correct makeup for your performers, taking into account skin type, skin tone, and lighting conditions. A variety of looks from natural, to beauty, to avant-garde can help your actors fully embody the characters they portray.

intimacy coordination

Intimacy coordination is necessary for the comfort and safety of not only actors starring in, but also the crew filming intimate scenes. Coordinators work closely with directors and actors, discussing and establishing boundaries, choreographing intimate acts, and especially educating cast and crew on best practices.

And more…

With some experience with in other crew positions like hair styling, wardrobe, props, and others, if your project is in want of someone to fill roles like this please get in touch using the form on the Contact page and let's discuss your needs!

Meet Sherrl

When I first began pursuing a serious interest in make-up, I focused primarily on beauty, glamour, and fashion applications, and it was enjoyable and interesting. But when I answered a call for volunteer make-up artists for the Scare for a Cure haunted adventure, I discovered a new passion in the world of special effects make-up. From the creative and energetic crew at Scare, I learned how to cast, apply, and paint appliances and prosthetics, and how to mix blood, slime, and other bodily fluids.

Soon after, I was able to take the skills that I acquired there and continue learning from and working with some of the prominent artists in the special effects industry. For the next ten years or so, I was delighted to work on a wide variety of projects with diverse crews of talented individuals as both a special effects artist and a makeup artist.

It was around that time that I took notice and recognized the value of the emerging role of intimacy coordinator and felt that was an area in which I could positively contribute. I devoted my free time during the pandemic to taking courses and training to become an IC, and since then I have had the opportunity to contribute in that important capacity on several projects with crews and actors of all genders.

I love what I do, I always enjoy working with new teams, and I look forward to discussing your needs for your next project!
